द्वादश वर्षा स्त्री प्राप्त व्यवहारा भवति, षोडश वर्षः पुमान् ॥
WOMEN, when twelve years old, attain their majority (práptavyavahára) and men when sixteen years old.

अत ऊर्ध्वम् अशुश्रूषायां द्वादश पणः स्त्रिया दण्डः, पुंसो द्वि गुणः ॥ इति शुश्रूषा ।
If after attaining their majority, they prove disobedient to lawful authority (asusrúsháyám), women shall be fined 15 panas and men, twice the amount.

भर्मण्यायाम् अनिर्दिष्ट कालायां ग्रास आच्छादनं वा अधिकं यथा पुरुष परिवापं सविशेषं दद्यात् ॥
(Maintenance of a woman.) A woman who has a right to claim maintenance for an unlimited period of time shall be given as much food and clothing (grásacchádana) as is necessary for her or more than is necessary in proportion to the income of the maintainer (yatha-purushaparivápam vá).

निर्दिष्ट कालायां तद् एव संख्याय बन्धं च दद्यात् ॥
If the period (for which such things are to be given to her) is limited, then a certain amount of money fixed in proportion to the income of the maintainer shall be given to her.

शुल्क स्त्री धन आधिवेदनिकानाम् अनादाने च ॥
so also if she has not been given her sulka, property, and compensation (due to her for allowing her husband to remarry).
