वेणु मूल शैवल लिप्तम् अङ्गं मण्डूक वसा दिग्धम् अग्निना ज्वलति ॥
The body which is smeared over with the serum of the flesh of a frog burns with fire. The body of a man, which is rubbed over with the powder of the root of bamboo (venu) and saivála (aquatic plant), and is smeared over with the serum of the flesh of a frog, burns with fire.
english translation
veNu mUla zaivala liptam aGgaM maNDUka vasA digdham agninA jvalati ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपारिभद्रक प्पतिबला वञ्जुल वज्र कदली मूल कल्केन मण्डूक वसा सिद्धेन तैलेन अभ्यक्त पादो अङ्गारेषु गच्छति ॥
Whoever has anointed his legs with the oil extracted from the paste prepared from the roots of páribhadraka (erythrina indica), pratibala (?), vanjula (a kind of ratan or tree), vajra (andropogon muricatum or euphorbia), and kadali (banana), mixed with the serum of the flesh of a frog, can walk over fire (without hurt).
english translation
pAribhadraka ppatibalA vaJjula vajra kadalI mUla kalkena maNDUka vasA siddhena tailena abhyakta pAdo aGgAreSu gacchati ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptउप उदका प्रतिबला वञ्जुलः पारिभद्रकः । एतेषां मूल कल्केन मण्डूक वसया सह ॥
Oil should be extracted from the paste prepared from the roots of pratibala, vanjula and páribhadraka, all growing near water, the paste being mixed with the serum of the flesh of a frog.
english translation
upa udakA pratibalA vaJjulaH pAribhadrakaH । eteSAM mUla kalkena maNDUka vasayA saha ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसाधयेत् तैलम् एतेन पादाव् अभ्यज्य निर्मलौ । अङ्गार राशौ विचरेद् यथा कुसुम संचये ॥
Having anointed one's legs with this oil, one can walk over a white-hot mass of fire as though on a bed of roses.
english translation
sAdhayet tailam etena pAdAv abhyajya nirmalau । aGgAra rAzau vicared yathA kusuma saMcaye ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptहंस क्रौञ्च मयूराणाम् अन्येषां वा महा शकुनीनाम् उदक प्लवानां पुच्छेषु बद्धा नल दीपिका रात्राव् उल्का दर्शनम् ॥
When birds such as a hamsa (goose), krauncha (heron), mayúra (peacock) and other large swimming birds are let to fly at night with a burning reed attached to their tail it presents the appearance of a fire-brand falling from the sky (ulká).
english translation
haMsa krauJca mayUrANAm anyeSAM vA mahA zakunInAm udaka plavAnAM puccheSu baddhA nala dIpikA rAtrAv ulkA darzanam ॥
