रक्त श्वेत सर्षपैर् गोधा त्रि पक्षम् उष्ट्रिकायां भूमौ निखातायां निहिता वध्येन उद्धृता यावत् पश्यति तावन् मारयति, कृष्ण सर्पो वा ॥
No sooner does a person condemned to death pull out from the earth an alligator or iguana (godhá) which, with three or five handfuls of both red and white mustard seeds, is entered into the earth than he dies at its sight.
english translation
rakta zveta sarSapair godhA tri pakSam uSTrikAyAM bhUmau nikhAtAyAM nihitA vadhyena uddhRtA yAvat pazyati tAvan mArayati, kRSNa sarpo vA ॥
