धर्म मूलत्वात् काम फलत्वाच् च अर्थस्य धर्म अर्थ काम अनुबन्धा या अर्थस्य सिद्धिः सा सर्व अर्थ सिद्धिः ॥
As virtue is the basis of wealth and as enjoyment is the end of wealth, success in achieving that kind of wealth which promotes virtue, wealth and enjoyment is termed success in all (sarvárthasiddhi). Thus varieties of success.
english translation
dharma mUlatvAt kAma phalatvAc ca arthasya dharma artha kAma anubandhA yA arthasya siddhiH sA sarva artha siddhiH ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदैवाद् अग्निर् उदकं व्याधिः प्रमारो विद्रवो दुर्भिक्षम् आसुरी सृष्टिर् इत्य् आपदः ॥
Such providential visitations as fire, floods, disease, pestilence (pramara), fever (vidrava), famine, and demoniac troubles are dangerous.
english translation
daivAd agnir udakaM vyAdhiH pramAro vidravo durbhikSam AsurI sRSTir ity ApadaH ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतासां दैवत ब्राह्मण र्पणिपाततः सिद्धिः ॥
Success in averting these is to be sought by worshipping gods and Bráhmans.

tAsAM daivata brAhmaNa rpaNipAtataH siddhiH ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअतिवृष्टिर् अवृष्टिर् वा सृष्टिर् वा या आसुरी भवेत् । तस्याम् आथर्वणं कर्म सिद्ध आरम्भाश् च सिद्धयः ॥
Whether demoniacal troubles are absent, or are too many, or normal, the rites prescribed in the Atharvaveda as well as the rites undertaken by accomplished ascetics are to be performed for success.

ativRSTir avRSTir vA sRSTir vA yA AsurI bhavet । tasyAm AtharvaNaM karma siddha ArambhAz ca siddhayaH ॥
