स्थान आसन गमन भूमिषु वा अस्य गो मय प्रदेहेन गन्ध उदक प्रसेकेन वा रसम् अतिचारयेत्, पुष्प चूर्ण उपहारेण वा ॥
or the floor of those places where he usually stands, sits, or walks may be be sprinkled with poison mixed with cow-dung or with pure water; or under the plea of giving him flowers, scented powders.
english translation
sthAna Asana gamana bhUmiSu vA asya go maya pradehena gandha udaka prasekena vA rasam aticArayet, puSpa cUrNa upahAreNa vA ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptगन्ध प्रतिच्छन्नं वा अस्य तीक्ष्णं धूमम् अतिनयेत् ॥
or of causing scented smoke, he may be poisoned.
english translation
gandha praticchannaM vA asya tIkSNaM dhUmam atinayet ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptशूलकूपम् अवपातनं वा शयन आसनस्य अधस्ताद् यन्त्र बद्ध तलम् एनं कील मोक्षणेन प्रवेशयेत् ॥
One may cause him to fall into a pit of stakes or a trap. Alternatively, by releasing the pins, he should be dropped through the bottom of a bed or a seat that has been mechanically fastened from below.
english translation
zUlakUpam avapAtanaM vA zayana Asanasya adhastAd yantra baddha talam enaM kIla mokSaNena pravezayet ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptप्रत्यासन्ने वा अमित्रे जन पदाज् जनम् अवरोध क्षमम् अतिनयेत् ॥
or when he is eager to get out of his castle he may be like-wise misled or made to enter an enemy's country which is to be restored (to the conqueror).
english translation
pratyAsanne vA amitre jana padAj janam avarodha kSamam atinayet ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदुर्गाच् च अनवरोध क्षमम् अपनयेत्, प्रत्यादेयम् अरि विषयं वा प्रेषयेत् ॥
One should remove from a fortress whatever is incapable of withstanding a siege, or send it away to enemy territory where it may later be recovered.
english translation
durgAc ca anavarodha kSamam apanayet, pratyAdeyam ari viSayaM vA preSayet ॥
