Arthashastra
दैवत उपहार श्राद्ध प्रहवणेषु वा रस विद्धम् अन्न पानम् अवसृज्य ॥
or on the occasion of feeding the people in honour of gods or of ancestors or in some festival, he may make use of poisoned rice and water, and having conspired with his enemy's traitors, he may strike the enemy with his concealed army.

daivata upahAra zrAddha prahavaNeSu vA rasa viddham anna pAnam avasRjya ॥
