Arthashastra
गूढ पुरुषा वा विमुखान् पत्त्य् अश्व रथ द्विप मुख्यान् अभिहन्युः, आदीपयेयुर् वा मुख्य आवासान् ॥
Secret spies may slay from behind the chiefs of infantry, cavalry, chariots and elephants, or they may set fire to the chief residences of the enemy. Traitors, enemies and wild tribes, employed for the purpose, may destroy the enemy's rear or obstruct his reinforcement.
english translation
gUDha puruSA vA vimukhAn patty azva ratha dvipa mukhyAn abhihanyuH, AdIpayeyur vA mukhya AvAsAn ॥
