"बलीयसा अभियुक्तो दुर्बलः सर्वत्र अनुप्रणतो वेतस धर्मा तिष्ठेत् ॥
WHEN a king of poor resources is attacked by a powerful enemy, he should surrender himself together with his sons to the enemy and live like a reed (in the midst of a current of water).
english translation
"balIyasA abhiyukto durbalaH sarvatra anupraNato vetasa dharmA tiSThet ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptइन्द्रस्य हि स प्रणमति यो बलीयसो नमति" इति भारद्वाजः ॥
Bháradvája says that he who surrenders himself to the strong, bows down before Indra (the god of rain).
english translation
indrasya hi sa praNamati yo balIyaso namati" iti bhAradvAjaH ॥

॥ He॥ should fight with all the combined strength of ॥ his॥ forces.

"sarva saMdohena balAnAM yudhyeta ॥

for bravery destroys all troubles

parAkramo hi vyasanam apahanti ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptस्व धर्मश् च एष क्षत्रियस्य, युद्धे जयः पराजयो वा" इति विशाल अक्षः ॥
this (fighting) is the natural duty of a Kshatriya, no matter whether he achieves victory or sustains defeat in battle.
english translation
sva dharmaz ca eSa kSatriyasya, yuddhe jayaH parAjayo vA" iti vizAla akSaH ॥
