एवं तव भारतोत्तम जम्बूद्वीपवर्षविभागो यथोपदेशमुपवर्णित इति ॥ ५-१९-३१ ॥

My dear King Parīkṣit, O best of the descendants of Bharata Mahārāja, I have thus described to you, as I myself have been instructed, the island of Bhārata-varṣa and its adjoining islands. These are the islands that constitute Jambūdvīpa. ॥ 5-19-31 ।‌।

english translation

भरत महाराज के वंशजों में श्रेष्ठ, हे राजा परीक्षित्, मैंने जितना ज्ञान प्राप्त किया है, उसी के अनुसार मैंने भारतवर्ष तथा उसके निकटवर्ती द्वीपों का वर्णन किया है। ये ही जम्बूद्वीप के उपद्वीप हैं। ॥ ५-१९-३१ ॥
