विशेषबुद्धेर्विवरं मनाक्च पश्याम यन्न व्यवहारतोऽन्यत् । क ईश्वरस्तत्र किमीशितव्यं तथापि राजन् करवाम किं ते ।। ५-१०-१२ ।।

My dear King, if you still think that you are the King and that I am your servant, you should order me, and I should follow your order. I can then say that this differentiation is temporary, and it expands only from usage or convention. I do not see any other cause. In that case, who is the master, and who is the servant? Everyone is being forced by the laws of material nature; therefore no one is master, and no one is servant. Nonetheless, if you think that you are the master and that I am the servant, I shall accept this. Please order me. What can I do for you? ।। 5-10-12 ।।

english translation

हे राजन्, यदि आप अब भी यह सोचते हैं कि आप राजा हैं और मैं आपका दास, तो आप आज्ञा दें और मुझे आपकी आज्ञा का पालन करना होगा। तो मैं यह कह सकता हूँ कि यह अन्तर क्षणिक है और व्यवहार या परम्परावश प्राप्त होता है। मुझे इसका अन्य कारण नहीं दिखाई पड़ता। उस दशा में कौन स्वामी है और कौन दास? प्रत्येक प्राणी प्रकृति के नियमों द्वारा प्रेरित होता है। अत: न तो कोई स्वामी है, न कोई दास। इतने पर भी यदि आप सोचते हैं कि मैं आपका दास हूँ और आप मेरे स्वामी हैं, तो मैं इसे स्वीकार कर लूँगा। कृपया आज्ञा दें। मैं आपकी क्या सेवा करूँ? ।। ५-१०-१२ ।।
