The Liṅga of Lord Shiva is acknowledged as the form of worship in all the Vedas, Because of its nature, it is both Sakal (with form) and Niṣkal (without form).
Similarly, the idol (Bera) is also universally accepted in worship, While other deities are considered to have life and form, Shiva is the essence of all forms everywhere.
Only the Bera (idol) is considered appropriate for worship, as determined by the Vedic scriptures. In the divine manifestations of the gods, the form is indeed the essence itself.
he Liṅga and the Bera of Lord Shiva are indeed seen in worship, Sanatkumar said: 'O fortunate one, you have spoken about the propagation of the Liṅga and the Bera.'
Sanatkumāra said: O Fortunate one, you have explained the worship of phallus and image distinctly for Śiva and the other deities. Hence, O lord of Yogins, I wish to hear the feature of the manifestation of the phallic aspect of Śiva.
