एवमुक्त्वा ततो व्यासं सानुगो विधिनंदनः । जगाम स्वविमानेन पदं परमशोभनम् २१ ।
After saying this to Vyāsa, the son of Brahmā mounted the aerial chariot accompanied by his followers and returned to his splendid and auspicious region.
english translation
एवमुक्तं समासेन पूर्ववृत्तांतमुत्तमम् । ऋषय ऊचुः । श्रवणादित्रयं सूत मुक्त्योपायस्त्वयेरितः २२ ।
Thus, in brief, the excellent story of the past was explained, The sages said: 'O Sūta, you have spoken about the threefold process of hearing, chanting, and meditating as the way to liberation.

श्रवणादित्रिकेऽशक्तः किं कृत्वा मुच्यते जनः । अयत्नेनैव मुक्तिः स्यात्कर्मणा केन हेतुना २३ ।
One who is incapable of even hearing or practicing the prescribed rites, How can such a person attain liberation? Without effort, how can liberation occur? What is the cause of liberation through action?
