नैवेद्यनिर्णयः प्रोक्तं इत्थं वो मुनिसत्तमाः । शृणुध्वं बिल्वमाहात्म्यं सावधानतयाऽदरात् २१ ।
O great sages, thus I have told you the decision about food-offering, Now, hear me attentively, with devotion. I shall explain the greatness of Bilva.
english translation
naivedyanirNayaH proktaM itthaM vo munisattamAH । zRNudhvaM bilvamAhAtmyaM sAvadhAnatayA'darAt 21 ।
hk transliteration by Sanscriptनैवेद्यनिर्णयः प्रोक्तं इत्थं वो मुनिसत्तमाः । शृणुध्वं बिल्वमाहात्म्यं सावधानतयाऽदरात् २१ ।
This Bilva is the symbol of Śiva. It is adored even by the Gods. It is difficult to understand its greatness. It can only be known to a certain extent.

hk transliteration by Sanscriptपुण्यतीर्थानि यावंति लोकेषु प्रथितान्यपि । तानि सर्वाणि तीर्थानिबिल्वमूलेव संति हि २३ ।
Whatever holy centre there is in the world finds a place under the root of Bilva.
english translation
puNyatIrthAni yAvaMti lokeSu prathitAnyapi । tAni sarvANi tIrthAnibilvamUleva saMti hi 23 ।

He who worships Mahādeva in the form of Liṅga at the root of Bilva becomes a purified soul; he shall certainly attain śiva.

hk transliteration by Sanscriptबिल्वमूले जलैर्यस्तु मूर्द्धानमभिषिंचति । स सर्वतीर्थस्नातः स्यात्स एव भुवि पावनः २५ ।
He who pours water over his head at the root of a Bilva can be considered to have taken his bath in all sacred waters in the earth. Verily he is holy.
english translation
bilvamUle jalairyastu mUrddhAnamabhiSiMcati । sa sarvatIrthasnAtaH syAtsa eva bhuvi pAvanaH 25 ।
