तदिदं शैवमाख्यातं पुराणं वेदसंमितम् । निर्मितं तच्छिवेनैव प्रथमं ब्रह्मसंमितम् ४८ ।
Such is the Śivapurāṇa, extolled on a par with the Vedas, created by Lord Śiva Himself at first and commensurate with the supreme Brahman.
