प्रकृत्यग्रे ततो बुद्धिरहंकारो गुणात्मकः । पंचतन्मात्रमित्येते प्रकृत्याद्यष्टकं विदुः ४ ।

The set of eight that binds is:—Prakṛti, Buddhi (cosmic intellect), Ahaṃkāra (cosmic ego) of the nature of attributes, and the five Tanmātrās (cosmic principles of Ether etc.)
