Shiva Purana
एतादृशे समुत्पन्ने भाविदुःखस्य सूचके । शांतियज्ञं तु मतिमान्कुर्यात्तद्दोषशांतये १०६ ।
When such inauspicious events or signs arise, which indicate future sorrow or misfortune, a wise person should perform a peace yajña (ritual) to pacify the negative influences and remove the doshas (flaws or faults).
