अन्यतो भाव्यतेऽवश्यं मायया जन्म कथ्यते । जीर्यते जन्मकालाद्यत्तस्माज्जीव इति स्मृतः ९९ ।

Certainly the birth is induced by the Māyā as an extraneous source. The word Jīva (the individual soul) means that which gets decayed even from the time of birth.

anyato bhAvyate'vazyaM mAyayA janma kathyate | jIryate janmakAlAdyattasmAjjIva iti smRtaH 99 |
