तिथ्यादौ देवपूजा हि पूर्णभोगप्रदा नृणाम् । पूर्वभागः पितृ-णां तु निशि युक्तः प्रशस्यते २६ ।

The worship of the deities on the respective Tithis etc. is conducive to full enjoyment for the devotees. In regard to rites of the manes, the earlier part must be in contact with the night previous.

english translation

tithyAdau devapUjA hi pUrNabhogapradA nRNAm | pUrvabhAgaH pitR-NAM tu nizi yuktaH prazasyate 26 |
