Wealth acquired by Kṣatriyas using their valour or Vaiśyas by trading activities is called excellent. So also the wealth acquired by the Śūdras by salaries for service.
The wealth of women who are seeking righteousness and prosperity (dharma-arthinām) should be inherited from the paternal (paitṛka) and husband’s (bhartṛka) sides. Similarly, the offerings made to cows, and the twelve (dvādaśī) offerings should be made in the month of Chaitra, and according to the prescribed order.

At an auspicious time (punyakalē), one should give away cows, land, gold, ghee, grains, jaggery, and other items for spiritual merit and material prosperity.
For Kshatriyas and for the people of the village, wealth earned through valor, commerce, and business is considered the best. For Shudras, the wealth earned through servitude is considered. Silver, salt, mustard seeds, and the dowry (the gift given at marriage), as well as cows, when given in charity, should be accompanied by cow dung or other useful forms of helpful charity.
For those dependent on wealth and grains, the removal of misfortune (durgati) can be accomplished through water. For those dependent on cows and milk, misfortune can be removed through the use of cow's water (gōjalai).
