Shiva Purana
अभवत्सा सरिच्छ्रेष्ठा यमुना लोकपा वनी ॥ मनुरित्युच्यते लोके सावर्णिरिति चोच्यते ॥ ४१ ॥
That Yamuna, the best of rivers, became the forest that protects the worlds. He is called Manu in the world and Savarṇi.

abhavatsA saricchreSThA yamunA lokapA vanI ॥ manurityucyate loke sAvarNiriti cocyate ॥ 41 ॥
