तत्तेहं सम्प्रवक्ष्यामि शृणु तत्त्वेन सुन्दरि ॥ लोकानामुपकारार्थं वैराग्यार्थमुमेऽधुना ॥ ८ ॥

O Umā, O beautiful lady, I shall tell that to you factually now, for the welfare of the people for bringing about their detachment from the world.

english translation

tattehaM sampravakSyAmi zRNu tattvena sundari ॥ lokAnAmupakArArthaM vairAgyArthamume'dhunA ॥ 8 ॥
