युवां प्रसूतौ प्रकृतेर्मदीयाया महाबलौ ॥ गात्राभ्यां सव्यसव्याभ्यां मम सर्वेश्वरस्य हि ॥ १६ ॥
O strong ones, you two are born of my own Prakṛti, out of my left and right sides. I am the lord of everything.
english translation
अयं मे दक्षिणात्पार्श्वाद्ब्रह्मा लोकपितामहः ॥ वामपार्श्वाच्च विष्णुस्त्वं समुत्पन्नः परात्मनः ॥ १७ ॥
This Brahmā, grandfather for all people, is born of my right side. You, Viṣṇu, are born of my left side. I am the supreme Ātman.
english translation
प्रीतोहं युवयोस्सम्यग्वरं दद्यां यथेप्सितम् ॥ मयि भक्तिर्दृढा भूयाद्युवयोरभ्यनुज्ञया ॥ १८ ॥
I am truly pleased with both of you. I shall grant you the boon you desire. May your devotion unto me become firm, with your consent.
english translation
पार्थिवीं चैव मन्मूर्तिं विधाय कुरुतं युवाम् ॥ सेवां च विविधां प्राज्ञौ कृत्वा सुखमवाप्स्यथ ॥ १९ ॥
Establish a physical (earthly) form of me (Shiva) and worship it in various ways, O wise ones. By doing so, you both shall attain great happiness.
english translation
ब्रह्मन्सृष्टिं कुरु त्वं हि मदाज्ञापरिपालकः ॥ वत्स वत्स हरे त्वं च पालयैवं चराचरम् ॥ 2-1-9-२० ॥
O Brahmā, strictly adhering to my direction you carry on the work of creation. Dear child, dear Hari, you shall sustain the mobile and the immobile beings.
