पावकस्त्वभवन्नैव सुखी तत्र मुनीश्वर॥ तस्याज्ञां परमोऽदाद्वै शंकरः परमेश्वरः॥४१॥
O great sage, only Agni did not become happy. Śiva, the great lord, gave a separate hint to him.
english translation
ततस्सवह्निर्विकलस्सांजलिर्नतको मुने॥ अस्तौच्छिवं सुखी नात्मा वचनं चेदमब्रवीत् ॥ ४२ ॥
Then the distressed fire, O sage, eulogised Śiva with palms joined in reverence and piteously spoke these words.

॥ अग्निरुवाच ॥ ॥ देवदेव महेशान मूढोऽहं तव सेवकः ॥ क्षमस्व मेऽपराधं हि मम दाहं निवारय ॥४३॥
Agni said: O lord of gods, I am a stupid and deluded servant of yours. Forgive me my fault.
english translation
त्वं दीनवत्सल स्वामिञ्शंकरः परमेश्वरः ॥ प्रत्युवाच प्रसन्नात्मा पावको दीनवत्सलम् ॥४४॥
Please remove my burning sensation. O lord, you are the benefactor and sympathetic to the distressed.

॥ ब्रह्मोवाच ॥ इत्याकर्ण्य शुचेर्वाणीं स शंभुः परमेश्वरः ॥ प्रत्युवाच प्रसन्नात्मा पावकं दीनवत्सलः ॥४५॥
Brahmā said: On hearing the words of Agni, Śiva the great lord spoke delightedly to Agni. He is favourably disposed to His devotees.
