यत्राष्टवर्गेऽधिकबिन्दवः स्यु- स्तत्र स्थितो गोचरतो ग्रहेन्द्रः । तद्वत्फलं प्राह शुभं व्ययारि- रन्ध्रस्थितो वाऽपि शुभं विद्धत्ते ॥ ४१॥
Planets passing through Rasis containing more benefic dots in the Ashtakavarga produce good effect always. Even when such Rasis happen to be the 12 th, 6 th or 8 th, the effect will be good and beneficial.

रवेद्वदिशनक्षत्रं भूसुतस्य तृतीयकम् । गुरोः षट्तारकं चैव शनेरष्टमतारकम् ॥ ४२॥
The 12 th asterism counted from that occupied by the Sun at the time, the 3 rd from that of Mars, the 6 th from that of Jupiter, and the 8 th from that of Saturn are termed purolattah or forward Lattas.

एतेषां च पुरोलत्ता पृष्ठोलत्तः प्रकीर्त्तिताः । शुक्रस्य पञ्चमं तारं चन्द्रजस्य तु सप्तमम् ॥ ४३॥
The 5 th star reckoned from that of Venus, the 7 th from that of Mercury; the 9 th from that of Rahu and the 22 nd from that of the Moon are called ggar: or rear Lattas

राहोस्तु नवम चैव द्वाविंशं भं हिमद्युतेः । ग्रहस्थितर्क्षाद्गणयेल्लत्तायां जन्मभे व्यथा ॥ ४४॥
If, when thus counting the janmanaksatra (Janmanakshatra. natal star) happens to come as the Latta star, there will be sickness and anguish.
