सर्वेषु लग्नेष्वपि सत्सु चन्द्र- लग्नं प्रधानं खलु गोचरेषु । तस्मात्तदृक्षादपि वर्तमान्- ग्रहेन्द्रचारैः कथयेत्फलानि ॥ १॥

Of all the Lagnas it is only the Moon's Lagna that is most important for ascertaining the Gocharaphala . One ought therefore to calculate and predict from the Moon's place to predict the effects due to the transits of planets through the several signs counted from that of the Moon.

english translation

sarveSu lagneSvapi satsu candra- lagnaM pradhAnaM khalu gocareSu । tasmAttadRkSAdapi vartamAn- grahendracAraiH kathayetphalAni ॥ 1॥
