यौगपद्येन तु विरोधिनां धातूनां वृध्दिह्रासौ भवतः। यध्दि यस्य धातोर्वृध्दिकरं तत्ततो विपरीतगुणस्य धातोः प्रत्यवायकरं सम्पद्यते ॥५॥
[Factors responsible for increase and decrease of body elements] Dhatus with mutually opposing properties simultaneously undergo increase and decrease. A factor which increases a particular dhatu can prove antagonist for the other dhatu of opposing properties.
