विवाहकालः करणं ग्रहाणां प्रोक्तं पृथक् तद्विपुला च शाखा। स्कन्धैस्त्रिभिज्यौतिषसंग्रहोऽयं मया कृतो दैवविदां हिताय ॥ २८-६॥
The time of marriage is said to be the doing of the planets separately and its vast branch. I have compiled this collection of astrology in three shoulders for the benefit of the knowers of fortune.

पृथुविरचितमन्यैः शास्त्रमेतत्समस्तं तदनु लघु मयेदं तत्प्रदेशार्थमेव। कृतमिह हि समर्थे धीविषाणामलत्वे मम यदसदुक्तं सज्जनैः क्षम्यतां तत् ॥ २८-७ ॥
This whole scripture, composed by others, is broad, and then I have made it small for that region. Forgive me for what I have been told by the gentlemen in the purity of the intelligent poisons I have done in this world.

ग्रन्थस्य यत्प्रचरतोऽस्य विनाशमेति लेख्याद् बहुश्रुतमुखाधिगमक्रमेण। यद्वा मया कुकृतमल्पमिहाकृतं वा कार्य तदत्र विदुषा परिहत्य रागम् ॥ २८-८॥
The destruction of the text which is in circulation should be written in the order of the acquisition of the face of many hearers. Whatever evil I have done or whatever little I have done here, do it here by knowing it, giving up passion.
english translation
आदित्यदासतनयस्तदवाप्तबोधः कापित्थके सवितृलब्धवरप्रसादः । आवन्तिको मुनिमतान्यवलोक्य सम्यग्घोरां वराहमिहिरो रुचिराञ्चकार ॥ २८-९॥
The son of Adityadasa attained this understanding and was blessed by the boon obtained by the sun in Kapitthaka Avantika looked at the opinions of the sages and made a beautiful boar.
english translation
दिनकरमुनिगुरुचरणप्रणिपातकृतप्रसादमति नेदम् । शास्त्रमुपसंगृहीत नमोऽस्तु पूर्वप्रणेतृभ्यः ॥ २८-१०॥
This is not the grace of the sun-god, who bowed down at the feet of the sage and the spiritual master. I offer my obeisances to the ancient pioneers who have collected the scriptures.
