स्वर्क्षतुङ्गमूलत्रिकोणगा: कण्टकेषु यावन्त आश्रिता: ॥ सर्व एव तेऽन्योन्यकारका: कर्मगस्तु तेषां विर्शेषत: ॥ २२-१ ॥
As many as those situated in the angles (1st, 4th, 7th, and 10th houses) in one’s own zodiac sign, exaltation, or mulatrikona; indeed, all those are mutual karakas, especially of those situated in the 10th house.

As when the Moon is situated in the lagna of Cancer and Mars, Saturn, the Sun, and Jupiter are situated in one’s own exaltation; those spoken karakas are mutual. All (planets) situated in the 10th and 4th house are karakas of (a planet) situated in the lagna.

If situated in one’s own, (mula)trikona, or exaltation and situated in the 10th house (from any planet) situated in one’s own, (mula)trikona, or exaltation and (the planet in the 10th house from the planet) is a friend or endowed with the quality of that (of friendliness) is also prescribed as a karaka.
