मन्दोऽलस: कपिलदृक्कृशदीर्घगात्रा स्थूलद्विज: परुषरोमकचोऽनिलात्मा ॥ स्नाय्वस्स्थसृक्त्वगथ शुक्रवसे च मज्जामन्दार्कचन्द्रबुधशुक्रसुरेज्यभौमा: ॥ २-११ ॥

The lords of the divine, water, fire, amusement, treasury, sleep, heap of a mound are to be considered in that order from the Sun. Jupiter covers a period of one month, Venus covers a fortnight, Saturn covers a period of one year, The taste governed by Sun is bitter, that by Moon is saltish, that by Mars bitter, that by Mercury is mixed, that of Jupiter is sweet, that of Venus is sour and that of Saturn is astringent.
