एते हि कफसंरुद्धगतिप्राणप्रकोपजाः । तस्मात्तन्मार्गशुद्ध्यर्थमूर्ध्वाधः शोधनं हितम् ॥ ८ ॥
Since these – (svasa and Hidhma) are born from the obstruction of the passage of Prana vayu by Kapha, it is beneficial to clear the passage by administration of purifactory therapy of both the upper and lower parts of the body (Emesis & Purgation).
