मूत्रग्रहरुजागुल्मक्षयाद्यास्त्वपतर्पणात् । ततोऽनुबन्धरक्षार्थं शमनानि प्रयोजयेत् ॥ ४ ॥
Mūtragraha – Retention of urine, rujā – pain, gulma – abdominal tumour, kṣaya – depletion of tissues etc. arise from apatarpana (under nourishment) as secondary diseases. Hence in order to protect the patient from these, he should be administered therapies to mitigate the doshas.
