महा कुलीनो दैव बुद्धि सत्त्व सम्पन्नो वृद्ध दर्शी धार्मिकः सत्य वाग् अविसंवादकः कृतज्ञः स्थूल लक्षो महा उत्साहो अदीर्घ सूत्रः शक्य सामन्तो दृढ बुद्धिर् अक्षुद्र परिषत्को विनय काम इत्य् आभिगामिका गुणाः ॥
Born of a high family, godly, possessed of valour, seeing through the medium of aged persons, virtuous, truthful, not of a contradictory nature, grateful, having large aims, highly enthusiastic, not addicted to procrastination, powerful to control his neighbouring kings, of resolute mind, having an assembly of ministers of no mean quality, and possessed of a taste for discipline;--these are the qualities of an inviting nature.
english translation
mahA kulIno daiva buddhi sattva sampanno vRddha darzI dhArmikaH satya vAg avisaMvAdakaH kRtajJaH sthUla lakSo mahA utsAho adIrgha sUtraH zakya sAmanto dRDha buddhir akSudra pariSatko vinaya kAma ity AbhigAmikA guNAH ॥
