जन पदम् एकस्थं वा घातयितुम् अमित्र अनीकम् आवाहयेत् ॥
and having led the enemy to the surrounded place, he may slay the enemy in good faith.

तद् अवरुद्ध देशम् अतिनीय विश्वस्तं घातयेत् ॥
After leading him beyond that restricted territory, one should kill him once he has become trust ful.

मित्र व्यञ्जनो वा बाह्यस्य प्रेषयेत् "क्षीणम् अस्मिन् दुर्गे धान्यं स्नेहाः क्षारो लवणं वा, तद् अमुष्मिन् देशे काले च प्रवेक्ष्यति, तद् उपगृहाण" इति ॥
A pretending friend may send information to an outsider: "Grains, oil and jaggery and salt stored in the fort (of the enemy) have been exhausted; a fresh supply of them is expected to reach the fort at such and such a place and time; seize it by force."

ततो रस विद्धं धान्यं स्नेहं क्षारं लवणं वा दूष्य अमित्र आटविकाः प्रवेशयेयुः, अन्ये वा अभित्यक्ताः ॥
Then traitors, enemies, or wild tribes, or some other persons, specially appointed for the purpose, may send a supply of poisoned grains, oil, jaggery, and salt to the fort.

तेन सर्व भाण्ड वीवध ग्रहणं व्याख्यातम् ॥
