बिंदुनादमयं लिंगं स्थावरं जंगमं च यत् । भावनामयमेतद्धि शिवदृष्टं न संशयः ३६ ।
The Bindu and Nāda forms, the stationary or mobile ones are conceptual but belong to Śiva, undoubtedly.
english translation
biMdunAdamayaM liMgaM sthAvaraM jaMgamaM ca yat । bhAvanAmayametaddhi zivadRSTaM na saMzayaH 36 ।
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयत्र विश्वस्य ते शंभुस्तत्र तस्मै फलप्रदः । स्वहस्ताल्लिख्यते यंत्रे स्थावरादावकृत्रिमे ३७ ।
Wherever Śiva is sincerely believed to be present, the lord bestows on the devotee the benefit through that alone.
english translation
yatra vizvasya te zaMbhustatra tasmai phalapradaH । svahastAllikhyate yaMtre sthAvarAdAvakRtrime 37 ।
hk transliteration by Sanscriptआवाह्य पूजयेच्छंभुं षोडशैरुपचारकैः । स्वयमैश्वर्यमाप्नोति ज्ञानमभ्यासतो भवेत् ३८ ।
The devotee can invoke the lord in a natural immobile thing—a rock or a stump—or an engraved picture and worship Śiva by the sixteen Upacāras (services and homage). He will attain supreme power of the lord and by practice gain knowledge.
english translation
AvAhya pUjayecchaMbhuM SoDazairupacArakaiH । svayamaizvaryamApnoti jJAnamabhyAsato bhavet 38 ।
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदेवैश्च ऋषिभिश्चापि स्वात्मसिद्ध्यर्थमेव हि । समंत्रेणात्महस्तेन कृतं यच्छुद्धमंडले ३९ ।
It is performed with the mantra by the gods and sages, for the purpose of self-realization. It is done with a purified hand in the sacred circle.

devaizca RSibhizcApi svAtmasiddhyarthameva hi । samaMtreNAtmahastena kRtaM yacchuddhamaMDale 39 ।
hk transliteration by Sanscriptशुद्धभावनया चैव स्थापितं लिंगमुत्तमम् । तल्लिंगं पौरुषं प्राहुस्तत्प्रतिष्ठितमुच्यते 1-18-४० ।
The supreme lingam, when established with pure intention and devotion, is said to be the symbol of masculine energy and is considered as firmly established.

zuddhabhAvanayA caiva sthApitaM liMgamuttamam । talliMgaM pauruSaM prAhustatpratiSThitamucyate 1-18-40 ।
