गां सवत्सां विधानेन यथोपस्करसंयुताम् ॥ उक्त्वाचार्याय वै दद्याच्छिवो मे प्रीयतामिति ॥ १६ ॥
Saying “May Śiva be pleased”, he shall make the gift of a cow and a calf together with the essential requisites to the preceptor.
english translation
तत्तस्सकुम्भां तन्मूर्तिं सवस्त्रां वृषभे स्थिताम् ॥ सर्वालंकारसहितामाचार्याय निवेदयेत् ॥ १७ ॥
He shall offer to him the waterpot and the Śiva idol with all ornaments, placing them on a bullock.
english translation
ततः संप्रार्थयेद्देवं महेशानं महाप्रभुम्॥ कृतांजलिर्नतस्कन्धस्सुप्रीत्या गद्गदाक्षरः ॥ १८॥
He shall pray to lord Śiva the great lord with great pleasure, with palms joined in reverence, with shoulders drooping and words choked with emotion.

देवदेव महादेव शरणागतवत्सल ॥ व्रतेनानेन देवेश कृपां कुरु ममोपरि ॥ १९ ॥
“O great lord, lord of the gods, favourably disposed to the devotees, be merciful to me, thanks to this Vrata.

मया भक्त्यनुसारेण व्रतमेतत्कृतं शिवा ॥ न्यूनं सम्पूर्णतां यातु प्रसादात्तव शङ्कर ॥ २०॥
O Śiva, this Vrata is performed by me according to my ability. O lord, if it is deficient in any respect let it become perfect by your favour.
