पुरस्ताद् अभिहत्य प्रचलं विमुखं वा पृष्ठतो हस्त्य् अश्वेन अभिहन्यात् ॥
Having struck the front of the enemy's army, he may strike it again by means of his elephants and horses when it has shown its back and is running away.

पृष्ठतो अभिहत्या प्रचलं विमुखं वा पुरस्तात् सार बलेन अभिहन्यात् ॥
After striking from the rear, one should attack from the front with the elite forces while the enemy is retreating or turned away.
