पूर्वं भङ्ग प्रदानेन अनुप्रलीनं भिन्नम् अभिन्नः प्रतिनिवृत्य हन्यात् ॥
One who is whole should turn back and strike the broken one, who was previously routed by the infliction of a defeat and has fled.
english translation
pUrvaM bhaGga pradAnena anupralInaM bhinnam abhinnaH pratinivRtya hanyAt ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपुरस्ताद् अभिहत्य प्रचलं विमुखं वा पृष्ठतो हस्त्य् अश्वेन अभिहन्यात् ॥
Having struck the front of the enemy's army, he may strike it again by means of his elephants and horses when it has shown its back and is running away.

purastAd abhihatya pracalaM vimukhaM vA pRSThato hasty azvena abhihanyAt ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपृष्ठतो अभिहत्या प्रचलं विमुखं वा पुरस्तात् सार बलेन अभिहन्यात् ॥
After striking from the rear, one should attack from the front with the elite forces while the enemy is retreating or turned away.

One should strike from that direction where the enemy is corruptible, insignificant, or lacks strength.
