दत्त्वेमां याचमानाय विष्णवे यः पदत्रयम् । राद्धमिन्द्रपदं हित्वा ततः सिद्धिमवाप्स्यति ॥ ८-१३-१३ ॥

sanskrit

Bali Mahārāja gave a gift of three paces of land to Lord Viṣṇu, and because of this charity he lost all the three worlds. Later, however, when Lord Viṣṇu is pleased because of Bali’s giving everything to Him, Bali Mahārāja will achieve the perfection of life. ॥ 8-13-13 ॥

english translation

बलि महाराज ने भगवान् विष्णु को तीन पग भूमि दान में दी जिसके कारण उन्हें तीनों लोक खोने पड़े। किन्तु बाद में बलि द्वारा सर्वस्व दान दे दिये जाने पर जब भगवान् विष्णु प्रसन्न हुए तो बलि महाराज को जीवन की सिद्धि प्राप्त हो जाएगी। ॥ ८-१३-१३ ॥

dattvemAM yAcamAnAya viSNave yaH padatrayam । rAddhamindrapadaM hitvA tataH siddhimavApsyati ॥ 8-13-13 ॥
