[त] अहं स तक्षकॊ बरह्मंस तं धक्ष्यामि महीपतिम निवर्तस्व न शक्तस तवं मया दष्टं चिकित्सितुम ॥ १-३८-३८ ॥

'In response, Takshaka said, 'I am that Takshaka, O Brahmana, who will consume that sovereign of the land. Cease, as you cannot undo even a fragment of my influence.' ॥ 1-38-38 ॥
